It's nearly 4 am and I've been organizing my webpage. I've got the basic stuff ready to go, links created to each page and so on. All I have to do now is write up all the text and put in all the thumbnails. That won't take long at all. LOL

We had a really bad storm here Friday night, bad enough that the mall I work in closed early. When I work up Saturday morning it was as if the storm had never been. Strange, nice but strange.

DH starts back to work on Monday. I think he's slightly excited about it, just the chance to get out of the house on a regular basis. He's also a little nervous, worried he won't make it through training because he thinks he won't be able to remember stuff. I told him once he's using that information all the time, he won't forget it that easily.

We were supposed to have a Lunar Eclipse tonight. Unfortunately, the sky was too hazy to see it.

I guess that's it for now. Take care & talk soon.

Happy Saint Valentine's Day...

Your husband has to go back to work. But he's not ready, you say. It doesn't matter, the leave time is over according to the paperwork.

This is the jist of the conversation DH and I had today regarding his work. He was told today that he has to go back to work on February 26th. There have been so many changes at his work that he's got to go through the 6 weeks of training again. Then they told him that the only training class available will be the evening class that doesn't end until 12:30 a.m. The doctors haven't solved his "situation", or completely treated it yet. He's not allowed to drive, and the transit bus stops running at 9 or 10 p.m. As you can probably gather, I am NOT a happy camper right now.

On a happier note, DH and I went out for supper yesterday. We hadn't treated ourselves in a long while so we went out and had Fish & Chips. =) It was good too. =D

I have a title!

Well, today I was told that I now have an official title at work. Instead of just being a Retail Sales Associate, I am the Apparel Merchandise Coordinator. Isn't that nifty?

I'll find out tomorrow if that includes more hours and a pay raise or not. But then, I'm also expecting my yearly review in the next two weeks, which I'm hoping WILL include a pay raise. Of course, they'll have to make it a good sized raise or it will get eaten up by the standard of living increase on April 1st.

Other than that, everything else is moving along the same as it has been. Slow and steady. BTW, I new it would take DH longer than he thought to finish the painting of the downstairs. He hasn't been feeling well and didn't get to paint today. He did have supper cooking for us when I got home from work today. =)

Ah, home decoration.

Well, the new living room furniture is home. We had to change our original placement plan since the chair was way bigger than we remembered. The new layout makes the room seem more open where we've got two seating areas. My old chair has been moved to the front of the room, next to the big front window which means lots of natural light for my stitching. Yay! :D DH is going to build a shelving unit next to the stairs to hold all our dvd's and cd's. Then the only thing left to do is paint the ceiling and the living room will be finished.

DH started priming and painting the dining room yesterday. We may have the walls finished tomorrow. Then we'll switch the china cabinet with the hutch and put the rest of the furniture back in place. Again, the ceiling will still be left to paint.

DH also started priming the bathroom. We don't have all the paint for the bathroom, so that will take a little bit longer to finish.

Before I had to leave for work today, DH and I went to a local New & Used Building Supply store and picked up a double wide roll of wallpaper for one wall in the kitchen. The other walls will be a pale buttery yellow, the cabinet frames will be beige/sand colour, the doors of the cabinets will be white, and the pulls are red. Red is my accent colour. :)

DH thinks he can have all of the downstairs rooms painted by this time next week. Except for the ceilings that is. It would be nice, but I think it'll take him about twice as long as he thinks. ;)

The following pictures are of my stitching corner and the new furniture.

Let's try this again, shall we!?

Well, it's been almost 3 yrs since I've actually posted to this blog. I really should hang my head in shame, but I'm not going to. Life happens, and sometimes certain things have to take a back seat. Blogging, which I wasn't good at to begin with, and cross stitch were two of those things taking a back seat.

I'm going to try again. Notice I said the word try? ;)
Of course, the cat laying over my left fore arm on the desk isn't helping. :P

Let's see. I'll try to do a short "catch up" for anyone who's reading. If I can remember that far back. lol

The year 2004 brought new jobs and a move. (confounded landlord)
DH and I both started training at an inbound call centre in the area.
During that 6 week training period we had to move from Cornwallis Park to Parker's Cove.

The year 2005 brought a new job for me, a new vehicle for us, and an addition to the family.
In December of 2004 I developed anxiety attacks at the call centre, I couldn't get past them (even with meds) so I found a new place to work at the beginning of January. I was hired during my interview. I've been there ever since. :D
In October DH, with the help of my parents, gave me a kitty for our anniversary. She was born in July 2005 and her name is Sasha.
In December, after several break-downs at night on the way home from work, DH and I bought a new-to-us Pontiac Montana. (I love my van.)

The year 2006 brought another move, and an illness.
Through the winter and spring DH and I decided that we'd prefer not to drive up a mountain every time we wanted to come home. In July we found a house for rent in Digby, where we had started our relationship. It's owned by the church we were married in, is a maximum 5 min walk to my work, and a 2 min to DMIL. Which is good cause she's not 100% anymore.
In November DH started developing symptoms that his co-workers thought was a stroke. It turns out he has Occipital Neuralgia. He's been off work since Nov 26, 2006. He's seen a specialist, and is awaiting the results of an MRI. He's on medication for headaches, seizures, and his depression. He's not allowed to drive, can't work, and is going batty stuck at home all the time.

That leads us to now. We're still waiting for test results, and to see how meds will work. He's been selling on the bay of evil to help contribute to the finances, and he's been slowly sorting out the moving mess we're still surrounded by.

I'm still at my store, where I've been since Jan 2005. My review is this month and I think I'm going to get a raise. I just hope it doesn't get lost in the Minimum Wage Order raise that's coming in April.
